A slip of the tongue from general manager at Microsoft Brian Hall has revealed some interesting news. The next Xbox console will be getting the Windows 8 treatment. The reveal came in an interview with the Verge. The discussion was about the launch of Outlook.com but it seems Brian got a little too excited and let slip that Windows out will be the OS for the new Windows Phone as well as the new Xbox. Here’s what Brain had to say in the interview:
We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office with the new Windows phone and the new Xbox.”
There is no doubt in our minds that Brain is currently being beaten with socks filled with soap bars for leaking this little detail about the next-gen system. How ever Brian’s beatdown will not be in vain, as this exciting news means that the next gen system will have seamless integration with PC’s and Windows phones of the future which is some good news.

Don’t know if this will be good or bad…
Microsoft is over doing it now
Hopefully this means that I’ll only have to buy PvZ once, and be able to play it on any Win8 device

Me like! Being a pc gamer will mean I can connect all my gadgets, console & pc…..(That’s if I talk myself into buying an xbox)
Why is Brain being beaten? He had nothing to do with this, Brain is the one who let slip.
