Ouya’s first exclusive title belongs to Robert Bowling’s new studio

Human Element

There has been an announcement regarding the first exclusive title to wind up on that Ouya Android console. The first game to appear will come from former Call of Duty/Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling’s Robotoki studio and will be a prequel to the upcoming zombie-themed The Human Element.

The full version of Bowling’s title is expected to release in 2015, a bit of a ways away, so the planned episodic release of the prequel on the Android platform should be enough to drum up excitement in the meantime. Bowling says in a video posted on the Kickstarter page:

What this allows us to do – because Ouya has been so accessible – we able to bring you a look at the world of Human Element, a month, a week, a year after the events of the game. We’re going to work with the Ouya team and bring you an exclusive episodic look of the world as it develops and collapses over the course of the event happening.”

This is… a pretty interesting idea, actually. Let’s see how it goes.

Is it just me or is there no point in making an exclusive for a console that is designed to be completely hackable and also in essence runs on a platform that can be accessed by most people with access to the Android marketplace?
