South African gamers are set to get their own social network if the folks over at GameBuddies have anything to do with it. GameBuddies is a place where gamers can “meet new friends and get exposed to new businesses, websites and organizations” according to Charl Bosman, who contacted G3AR regarding the new initiate.
The website will be a dedicated environment for gamers where they can talk about games and share anything they find interesting without the hassle of sifting through non-relevant content. Gamers can show other friends what game they are busy playing and discuss them and find out what the gamer thinks about the game for example. They can also keep record of their best photos or videos which their friends can view any time.”
GameBuddies is still in its infancy but prospective users can sign up already. There are several features in the works, chief among these being the GameMarket – where gamers can trade, buy or sell games and gaming hardware – and the GameShare section where gamers can share their vids, snapshots and links.
The other features? Those are up to the users.
We have big plans moving forward with more features being added over time which will include business pages, more community pages like an online gaming page and a host of other profile features. We are now in open Beta phase and listening to all the suggestions and feedback we are receiving from the members and making upgrades and adjustments to get the foundation stable before moving forward with new additions to the website. The great thing about the site is that the members mould and shape the website to what it can ultimately become as they drive the content and give feedback on features.”
