Nintendo respond to Microsoft claims

Miyamoto Problem G3AR

Microsoft has recently claimed that Nintendo’s Wii U platform is “effectively a 360.” They believe that the Wii U Pro Controller’s design is based on that of the Xbox 360 controller. According to Reggie Fils-Aime however, the Wii U Pro Controller is designed for comfort.

Nintendo has stated that:

The Wii U Pro Controller is an enhanced version of the Classic Controller Pro that has been designed specially to work with the Wii U console. It simply offers another way to play and more options for developers use. We do not compare ourselves to the other consoles.”

If there is a Nintendo, retro and/or occasional Microsoft/Sony console around, you'll find that I won't be far behind. Lover of Bonnie Tyler and Tottenham Hotspur.

That controller on the left is hideous :P
I’d love to see a scale side-by-side pic of a Xbox controller and a Wii U Pro controller (whew! what a name…)

Have a look at the source link. It’ll give you a fairly good idea. The Wii U Pro controller is a ‘liiiiittle’ smaller.

They should just standardize the controllers for wii/xbox/ps3 etc. The time used to get acclimatized to a different controller type for every different console there is seems like a learning curve that is not required (wastes valuable gaming time perhaps?). They all share the same or similar button sets…

perhaps it’s just wishful thinking on my part…

But then it will be a pissing match of who has the best what.

I say take the 360 control and slap the PS3 D-pad on. Done.
