Borderlands save files unlocks content in Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 Head

Those who have played the first Borderlands will get exclusive access to character heads and skins in Borderlands 2. The unlocks will be available once the game has detected the save games of its predecessor. Unfortunately there is little information on the unlocks with only a single image detailing what players will get. But it lacks any information showing how much of the first game will need to be completed. The only clue is that the exclusive contest will be available for what the poster calls Vault Veterans but how many of the side quests will need to be completed (if any) remains a mystery.

That’s a nice reward to those that have played the first game

I agree, it’s a load of crap having to pay for skins. I especially hate that they include skins with Limited or Collectors editions, just to pad in some extra content.
Those editions should be free of digital content that is of aesthetic value only.

I guess most people will have access to these content (unless you are Lonthor) as most peeps that will buy Borderlands 2 would have played the original one before. The reasoning for that is that Borderlands is not for everybody. I have yet to meet someone in my community that loves Borderlands as much as I do.

Borderlands 1 was FTW!!! Borderlands 2 is gonna be ten thousand times better. It’s really awesome that they are gonna be rewarding returning players with content like this. It makes you feel as if the developers care about you coz you played their previous games :)

Ratchet and Clank used to do a similar thing to this with extra costumes or weapons that would unlock if it detected a previous game save on your system.

More companies need to implement stuff like this. Rewarding loyal customers etc. :D
