EA has come out with a very bold statement saying that they want to have 90 plus Metacritic score ratings for all of their future titles.
EA’s senior Vice President of Global eCommerce, David DeMartini says that the company has set the bar set extremely high for both its games, and its online services.
In addition DeMartini has compared Origin to the ‘Facebook’ of online services.
This is what was said:
If MySpace had stayed the one answer in social networking and no one switched to Facebook, then we’d all be stuck on MySpace right now and we wouldn’t have had the Facebook phenomenon.
EA is in a really interesting place. We have this bar that is set so high, so that whether it is any of our games or services, we want to be 90 plus Metacritic at everything.”
