Anarchy Reigns delay surprised developers

Anarchy Head

SEGA announced yesterday that Anarchy Reigns would be delayed until Q1 2013, a move which has apparently surprised developers Platinum Games. Until SEGA’s announcement the studio was unaware that the game’s release would be stalled at all.

Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba posted several tweets on the subject, saying:

First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns. The delay is not due to further development on the game.

He went on to say:

Today’s Q1 2013 release news was the first we’d heard of it. Even if we wanted to, we can’t comment as we’re (still) in the dark officially

Strangely, Anarchy Reigns‘ Japanese release is still set for 5 July this year.

G3AR's Online Editor (Ninja Edition) and scourge of all the writers on the website. I spend almost as much time gaming as I do reading (that's saying something), so there is little time for sleep. Don't play MMOs because I'd never get anything done, ever.

Perhaps it;s nothing more than red tape holding up the other regions?
