Never heard of JHBGamers? These folks have been working around the clock to tie in big-name game launches with publishers for your benefit. Instead of the media (that’s us) getting hands-on session with games and all the frills and spills that goes with it you, dear reader, get the chance to join in on the fun. Going forward we’ll make you all aware of what’s happening. If you’re based in Durban or Cape Town don’t despair – you have dedicated support as well. (Follow them on Twitter @DBNGamers and @2upGamers)
Last night JHBGamers (follow @JHBGamers on Twitter) hosted the launch event for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier where everyone had a chance to get some hands-on time with the game before buying it. Eight consoles were set up for multiplayer while another was set up for Kinect integration where you could test out the awesome Gunsmith feature where you make use of your body to interact with the game. There were representatives from both Ubisoft and Microsoft to answer any of your questions and to top it they kindly hosted a live demo to see exactly how the game should be played.
Later that evening JHB Gamers handed out spot prizes consisting of Microsoft Points, Ghost Recon-branded T-Shirts and hoodies and ended the evening up with a random raffle draw where the game could be won on either 360 or PS3. The grand prize, consisting of a Kinect, the game, and all kinds of awesomeness was won by yours truly (It seems to be my lucky week).
Much thanks to JHBGamers for involving the community and bringing the games to those who really matter – the gamers. We’ll keep you all posted on their events going forward so that you too can join in on the fun.

super bleak there wasn’t a similar cape town event, perhaps next time…
I agree with you there
This event looks like it was a lot of fun. I see ITF Gaming was being represented in camouflage XD
Event looked really great, good job from JHB Gamers, it’s nice to see that they are pushing ahead so well and doing some interesting things.
Looks like a very good setup last night, and congrats Dawid on the prize.
Also this reminds me, 2up meetup is next Friday
Thanks for the article and feedback guys.
In the future there will be more events across the country happening same time like with Prototype 2.
2UPGamers and DBNGamers are doing magic work, keep an eye out for their next events happening super soon!
Looks like it was a really cool event
Looked great indeed
