Every copy of Diablo 3 will be coming with a Starter Edition that can be gifted to a friend. What the Starter Edition lets you play is the whole of Act One, the only downside being that a Starter character will be capped at level 13 and you wont have features such as the auction house available to you. That’s not a bad deal since it will allow a lucky friend to get a good few hours in with the game without spending a cent. Not to mention it might spark a few extra purchases for Blizzard.
Thirty days after the launch of Diablo 3, which is now only a few hours away, the Starter Edition will be available to everyone. The Starter Edition is a good idea to try and convince those friends of yours that are a bit tight with their coin to join the quest. So gift your Starter Edition wisely and begin your hunt for Diablo. Or Wirt’s Leg or whatever it is you’re personally looking for this time around.

Who’s gonna send me a code? I’ll wait until D3 drops to around R300 in price.
How big a download does this code entitle you to?
Maybe I should rather finish my copies of Diablo 1 and 2 first…
The entire game is downloaded then just limited, that way you can see the awesome content of your friends.
In these days of uncapped, I’m still on a capped account
I’d like to give this a spin, but inbetween all the game downloads, battle.net account creation etc, I think I’m going to need to buy a a few GBs worth of cap
I’m busy downloading the game at the moment
.
That’s quite cool of Blizzard
8gb for the will check it out later tonight
Sigh if only exams were done already :/ was offered the free pass by my friend (who says the game is flipping awesome – which makes my exams such even more) but had to turn it down :’(
