The Secret World draws in 1 million beta registrations

Secret Head

Upcoming MMO The Secret World has hit the 1 million registered beta users mark, a total that exceeds developer Funcom’s previous MMO The Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures‘ stats at this stage in the title’s development. The good news is that Funcom is starting their beta weekends for The Secret World from this weekend, so checking your inbox for an invite between now and mid-June might be a plan.

The Secret World launches on 19 June and if you have pre-ordered the game you will get to experience all of the beta weekends between now and then. Each weekend will see new content added to the beta for players to go all tinfoil hat on. What can you expect from the first beta? Well…

In the first Beta Weekend, named ‘Kingsmouth Calling’, players will get to join the Templar secret society starting out in London, before they get to visit parts of Solomon Island to investigate the mysterious events that have occurred there. Players will get to play around with the groundbreaking progression system that is free of restrictions such as classes and levels, and will have the chance to experience the unique storyline that ‘The Secret World’ offers.

G3AR's Online Editor (Ninja Edition) and scourge of all the writers on the website. I spend almost as much time gaming as I do reading (that's saying something), so there is little time for sleep. Don't play MMOs because I'd never get anything done, ever.

I’m busy downloading the beta client. Really interested to check it out.

Considered checking this out, I just don’t think I can add an MMO into the little time I have.
