Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg, speaking an earnings call to investors yesterday, detailed the plans that Activision has for the company’s future. Call of Duty, Skylanders and titles being created by Bungie all figure into their schemes but there are going to be some new IPs in the offing as well.
Acti is looking to expand on Call of Duty, geographically and by expanding platforms. The latter of these will probably have something to do with the Wii U. The Elite service will be developed further (hopefully not to other titles) and the company is looking to push Skylanders a little harder than before. New IPs from Bungie will be getting attention and they intend to invest in other new IPs (called “mega IPs” whatever those are. Sounds like a yearly release), new tech and new businesses.
By the sound of it we’re definitely looking at more Call of Duty and more Skylanders, possibly more subscription services and a crapton of stuff from Bungie.
