Who would have thought in 2004 that this demonstration of what would ultimately become Assassin’s Creed would end up being one of the biggest franchises in the history for Ubisoft? Assassin’s Creed started off as a humble Prince of Persia spinoff by the name of Prince of Persia: Assassins. The leaked video shows the ‘prince’ (we assume) walking though a market and randomly slicing a guard in the throat, breaking the next guards arm and then killing off the last guard by stabbing him viciously… in the knee. As he attempts to escape a bunch of goons corner him and beat the living daylights out of him. He somehow gets out of the mess and jumps on a horse, alongside another assassin, and rides off in the distance.
Yikes! That’s a mouthfull for 2004 where we were all far too busy playing Half Life 2, Halo 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Check the video below and skip to 1:31.
