An analyst has estimated that Diablo III could exceed a total sales count of 4 million units over its life span with 3.5 million copies expected to be sold this year alone. Arvind Bhatia, who works for Stern Agee, believes that Activision-Blizzard’s Q1 2012 financial results to be as good as expected due to the hype surrounding Diablo III.
Bhatia bases these expectations that Diablo II has sold over 4 million units. This analysis will no doubt send Activision-Blizzard’s stocks skyrocketing and this is likely to be amplified when Diablo III goes on sale on May 15. Crown & Company analyst Doug Creutz is however expecting the game to hit the 5 million units sold mark by the end of 2012. Either way Activision-Blizzard is going to make a killing this year and then there is the release of Black Ops 2 to consider. Cha-ching!
