Valve: No announcements planned for E3

Valve Head

Valve has unfortunately confirmed to gaming website Joystiq that the company will not be announcing anything new at this year’s E3 expo. That means no Half Life 3, no Half Life 2: Episode 3, any other Valve sequels or new IP announcements. Not yet, anyway.

Valve’s Doug Lombardi told Joystiq that “We have no product announcements planned for this year’s show“, dashing the hopes of the G3AR folks who will be in attendance and those of gamers everywhere.

While this is a bit depressing, it isn’t exactly unexpected. We’re still hoping that Valve is pulling a fast one on everyone but it is unlikely. Valve will be at E3 however, demoing CounterStrike: Global Offensive and other, previously announced titles.

G3AR's Online Editor (Ninja Edition) and scourge of all the writers on the website. I spend almost as much time gaming as I do reading (that's saying something), so there is little time for sleep. Don't play MMOs because I'd never get anything done, ever.

Maybe Valve does have something planned and lied to Joystiq so tat they can announce something totally out of the blue (like Half Life 2 episode 3 to be launched the next day)
