Ex-Call of Duty dev goes solo

Robert-Bowling-Opens-Studio

Robert Bowling, who was the creative strategist at Infinity Ward, has decided to form his own game company. The new company goes by the name Robotoki and will be developing games for PC, mobile devices and next gen consoles. In an interview with Game Informer he let slip that his company’s first title will see an announcement this year. Robert also had this to say about the direction the company wants to go in.

However, how they experience the world is unique to their device. The mobile / tablet experience should not mimic the console or PC experience, it should be additive to it, not supplemental, allowing them to support their console and PC experience, continue their progression, but by experiencing the world in a meaningful and unique way.”

There are sure to be some intriguing titles coming from Robotoki. We might even see an FPS come out that tries to knock Call of Duty from the top spot. Wouldn’t that be interesting? Unlikely, but interesting.
