Tony Hawk talks games

Tony_Hawk_HD_1

In a recent interview with IGN, Tony Hawk gave his opinion about how the video game industry has changed a lot since the late 90′s. The change from a wide range of top titles to two or three seems to be foremost on his mind.

When our game was hitting really hard there were roughly 10-15 top games that were go-tos. Now there are only three or four that are the standard, If you’re not a first-person shooter at this point you’re kind of struggling. If you’re not Call of Duty, you’re not Halo, it’s super tricky out there.”

It looks like Mr Hawk has learned his lesson with regards terrible skate board peripherals and has gone back to what made his game series popular to begin with. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD will be a digital download, at a lower price point that Tony believes could save the dying breed that is skating games. Tony Hawk HD will be kickflipping on to screens everywhere in July for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Ooh I wonder what that lower price point will be? But he has a point… What’s that Diablo 3 is around the corner, oh OK :)

1200msp max, which is cheap. Well, depending on how big the game is, the older titles were great fun and lasted for quite a while.
