Devil May Cry Captivate trailer 2012

DMC Captivatev2

By now everyone knows that Devil May Cry has moved in a new direction. Ninja Theory (Enslaved, Heavenly Sword) is in the development driver’s seat and as a result the main character has been given a completely new look. The one thing that remains constant is Dante’s attitude. The latest DMC trailer from Capcom shows off some of the slick combat players can expect to see in the game as well as just a bit of the storyline which will be seen when the game is released.

Dante’s new look has not been welcomed by all and the decision to make the changes is still up for debate but what seems unquestionable is just how great the new game is going to be. If the new trailer doesn’t convince you then Dante’s demon foes are probably going to be coming for you. Check out the trailer below:

I wanted to write "something funny" here... and just succeeded with ease.

Devil May Cry 3 was already a ‘prelude’ featuring a ‘young Dante’.
This game looks fantastic and all but why… WHY such an extensive reboot. The continuity gone… a MUCH loved character and design. GONE.

Is it because DMC 1, 2 and 3 are by now considered ‘previous generation’?
    (But there’s HD re-releases now :\ )

New customers coming of age can’t relate since the story was told before their time?

I guess it boils down to numbers… The Japs are all about the benjamins these days it seems. I assume there are just more newer generation customers to sell to than sentimental older generation guys. Very sad…
(If they genuinely think that this reboot is just plain better than original Dante… i have no words)

    SO MANY QUESTIONS!?!

Perhaps not better than the original DMC series, but maybe they’re taking the character in a different direction. I mean, I loved (LOVE) the DMC games …1 through till 4 – but I have to admit, I’m looking forward to this.

And, by no means will this be able to replace the cherished memories I have of playing DMC1 for the 1st time, but the gameplay videos have shown it to look like hella fun \:D/
