The Easter weekend is upon us. For some this means lots of chocolate, for others it just means a long weekend with time away from work and school and for others it means lots of Matzah eating. Irrespective of those small matters it also means that we have four days for playing games and games shall be played. They shall.
With that in mind the G3AR staff over here decided to share with all our readers exactly how we would be spending these four glorious gaming days in between eating all the chocolate of course. Here are the responses:
Mynhardt - “Will mostly be playing PokePark 2 (for review for the site). For personal pleasure I’ll be delving into some higher intensity runs on Kid Icarus: Uprising simply because it’s awesomely fun, addictive, challenging and easily one of the best handheld games ever made. Lastly I might dabble around with some MGS 3DS, mostly for nostalgia purposes.”
Dawid - “Ridge Racer Unbounded, Metal Gear Solid 3D and Kinect Rush. I’m enjoying Ridge Racer Unbounded and it just did not make it in for review today (will be up on Tuesday) then it’s on to one of my favourite games in the world – Metal Gear Solid 3D. Once the battery dies, which it ultimately will, I’ll then jump around in my lounge like a lunatic playing Kinect Rush. Only Easter bunny chocolate will help me recover.
Michael - “I am probably going to be playing some Pokemon White since I won’t be at home and its my favourite of the recent titles. Still a Gold fan though”
David – “I’ll be finishing off Gears of War 3, a late bloomer I know. Then I have to give Wargame: European Escalation some attention, I am really enjoying that at the moment. It’s a good mix between RUSE and Company of Heroes, it’s not a bad looking game either. Sometimes I just sit back and send all my forces in at once, and then just watch the fireworks. Other than that will be finishing off Trine 2 as well and that’s about it. Well maybe some Company of Heroes against some hard AI just to keep my skills fresh.”
Garth – “As everyone knows this long weekend is all about suspense, stealth combat and snowboarding through treacherous mountain slopes. Don’t argue as there is in fact truth is this statement. Over this long weekend I’ll be finishing off Silent Hill: Shattered Memories which has being on my ‘to-play’ list for quite some time now. After the suspense of Silent Hill has eaten my nerves away I plan to play the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, I loved the originals and can’t wait to experience Peace Walker with the dual analog sticks as opposed to the PSP version. In between all of this I’ll be playing some SSX with a few friends as this is such an easily accessible ‘pick-up-and-play’ title. Apart from gaming I’ll be watching the Bulls take on the Crusaders as well as the mighty Tottenham Hotspur against the ever unpredictable Sunderland. I’ll see you all online. Have a fun-filled long weekend.
Come On You Spurs!”
Brett – “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – So I can finish the damned story at last. Silent Hill HD Collection and Yakuza: Dead Souls – So I can get the reviews up next week. Mortal Kombat – Need to try and beat my girlfriend for once. Naruto Shippuden – Ultimate Ninja Storm: Generations – Another review but I am almost finished unlocking all the fighters. Ninja Blade – Ooh, dismemberment and QTEs. Viva Piñata – Don’t judge me…”
Jarred – “I felt I would let everyone down if I didn’t start mention a sports game, so in time for the Masters I will be playing Tiger Woods 2013. As soon as I hit a tree - which won’t take too long, I plan to play Catherine and Kid Icarus but that is only if I can pull myself away from Lumines on the Vita. As an extra I will play some FIFA 12 where I can still watch my beloved Liverpool win a match or two.”
So that is what everyone our side will be busy with this weekend. Feel free to comment and share with us what your gaming plans are for the weekend. Happy chocolate eating and keep safe if you are traveling anywhere. Remember no gaming while you drive… unless you are playing Mario Kart.
