Microsoft has officially announced that as of June 2012 all Xbox Live Arcade games will see the achievements upgrade to 400 points, double that of the previous 200. That's up to 30 extra achievements per game. These extra achievement points are mandatory so developers have their work cut out for them to be more imaginative.
Who are we to judge any Achievement whore? Since Microsoft introduced the Achievement system with the launch of the Xbox 360 in 2005 it's become a phenomenon that no one can quite put their finger on. Other than gaining score and bragging rights there is nothing else that drives achievements... we'd be lying if we said we could not be bothered. WE NEED MORE ACHIEVEMENTS (Not sure why, but we do).
