Namco Bandai has confirmed a release date for Tekken 3D Prime Edition on 17 February 2012 for all European territories, which includes South Africa. This is the first Tekken title on a Nintendo platform since Tekken Advance on the GBA in 2001. Namco Bandai said it will be a “…more realistic and dynamic Tekken experience“.
3D Prime will ship with well over 40 characters and new stages with a few tweaks with the 3DS hardware in mind to take advantage of the extra bells and whistles. Though Wi-Fi has been confirmed Namco Bandai have promised that players can expect a 3DS game with a high framerate – taking a stab at the trouble Dead or Alive Dimensions experienced when switching to 3D in the process.
Like Tekken Hybrid the bundle comes packaged with a 3D version of the Tekken: Blood Vengeance movie, produced by Digital Frontier (Resident Evil: Degeneration, Death Note, Appleseed) and directed by Youichi Mouri (opening movies for Tekken 5 and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion).
