The last time we had a glimpse of anything Metal Gear Solid: Rising-related was back at E3 2010. Since then Hideo Kojima and his team have gone very quiet on the project. Until now. Though the original trailer showed an interesting direction for Raiden not everyone was confident about the new direction and it seems Hideo picked up on this as well as he’s handed Platinum Games, developers of Vanquish and Bayonetta, the development rights for the renamed Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
This is a bold new direction for the Metal Gear series and one that is not part of Metal Gear Solid canon, according to Kojima.
We’ve only said that the period setting is several years after MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is not part of the Metal Gear Solid series. At present, we can’t say more than this.
