Anonymous has said that they are responsible for a new virus that has started spreading on Facebook. According to a video posted by Anonymous and tweeted by @Anon_Central the group is claiming responsibility for the creation of the worm, dubbed the Fawkes Virus, but states that the malicious code has spread faster than they had expected.
According to the video the worm attacks a Facebook page and sends out links to the friends linked to the hacked account. The worm uses the infected account to make more friends and spread itself. The worm can then be used to take over the user’s PC/Mac. Anonymous claims that it will use the Fawkes Virus to attack its enemies and those it deems to be corrupt.
