Underscore Discovery, a local (that is, South African) indie game developer, have rounded up a bunch of folks involved in the local game development scene to be poked, prodded and have questions fired at them by people like you. You know, people who want nothing more than to make games for a living.
At rAge2011 we are holding a whole bunch of talks, meet ups with local game developers and Q&A sessions with the award winners and professionals that make game development a possible career in South Africa.
The talks run mostly on Saturday 1 October 2011 at the Coca Cola dome, the Castle Corner room has been booked and will be packed with information on breaking into the game industry, what the game industry is doing and where you can find out more. We have information on all the educational institutions that can teach you about making games, whether it is art or programming degree we have what you need to know.
We will be at the expo the entire weekend, with special guests and local games being played, demos being run and the Saturday sessions to complete the weekend.
This sort of opportunity does not come around in South Africa all that often so if you are keen (and able) then you have got to be there.
