The two graphics giants have both released drivers aimed at boosting performance in DICE’s soon-to-be-launched FPS title Battlefield 3. The drivers are being released in preparation for this weekend’s opening of the Battlefield 3 public beta.
NVIDIA’s drivers are the GeForce 285.38 beta version and support all NVIDIA GPUs from as far back as the GeForce 6 series. According to the release notes the beta drivers deliver a performance boost of up to 38% in Battlefield 3 as well as improving stability and image quality.
The AMD Catalyst 11.10 preview drivers are intended for use with AMD’s Radeon HD 6000 and HD 5000 series graphics cards. The 11.10 preview release notes state that the preview drivers improve performance in Battlefield 3 for single GPU and CrossFire setups with or without Anti-Aliasing.
