Activision, in conjunction with Mountain Dew and Doritos (under both fall under PepsiCo’s umbrella), will be launching a promotion in the States next month that will see folks getting double XP codes for Modern Warfare 3. That’s correct, Mountain Dew and Doritos will have alphanumeric codes on them from 10 October that will give gamers access to some “double XP time“.
The time that each individual player can accumulate will apparently be capped at a total of 24 hours and it seems that the time awarded for double XP will be in large enough chunks to avoid turning American Modern Warfare gamers into even larger chunks. Activision’s Tim Ellis is quoted as saying:
For many of our gamers, Call of Duty and Mountain Dew go hand in hand, and together we wanted to deliver gamers a one-of-a-kind program around the epic Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer.”
Whether the Doritos/Mountain Dew codes will be cross-platform compatible is not known at this time.
