According to hacktivist group Web Ninjas the 19-year old Scottish man who goes by the name Topiary that was arrested on Wednesday for being a head member of their rival group LulzSec is actually the wrong guy. In the LulzSec Exposed blog the Web Ninjas claim that the real Topiary is actually a 23-year old Swede who stole the handle from a low-level member of Anonymous.
While these are just claims made by unknown script kiddies located in basements there is some “proof” that the case-of-the-stolen-identity might be true. In a chat log an individual using the name Topiary says: “I’m hoping someone will go after him and think it’s me, then I’ll act all scared etc. ANYTHING to divert attention from that f**kign nameshub.”
For now we will have to wait while the police do their job and hopefully find real evidence that either acquits the 19-year old suspect or puts him behind bars.
